A beautiful place that it worths visiting is Bigăr Waterfall, located on the road between Oravita and Bozovici, is one of the most beautiful places from Romania! Those from www.theworldgeography.com were so impressed with the little Romanian waterfall that they placed it in the top of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world! The cascade was formed at the Miniş river gorge from Anina's Mountains. The water that form the waterfall flows into Minis over a moss-covered limestone cone, forming a curtain of water at the base of the cone. The Waterfall is located exactly on the 45th parallel, which is also unique, notes the specialty site above.

Lake Buhui is the first artificial lake built in Romania, has an area of 1,6 km2 and it is the lake with the biggest depth of about 27 meters. It was built in 1908 that the water of river Buhui can be stopped in it's course by a dam that bears his name. The dam has a thick canopy of 8 meters and down to the base of about 15 meters. The necessary water it's been allowed to drain through the underground - one of the longest underground water courses (3217 m) known in Romania - which appears again in the cave Buhui's surface, where it leads to Anina through a tunnel.

Caves

The Buhui cave

"Cave with bones" in the Valley of Miniş, is famous because there were discovered the oldest remains of modern human who lived in Europe. Between 2002 and 2005, three amateur cavers from Timişoara had to go through a siphon, a completely flooded gallery, where it can pass only in wetsuit and full equiped to discover a jaw and skull.


Cave Buhui is among the best known cave in Caras Severin county and it is located in a beautiful area from Anina Mountains. Being formed from galleries spread over 6547 meters, Cave Buhui is the largest cave in the whole group of Banat Mountains.


Cave Comarnic is the most beautiful and wild cave in Banat and even in România. It is the second longest cave in Banat, with 6201 meters. The tourist route from Cave Comarnic consists in a sequence of galleries and large and very rich concretions rooms: The Small Hall, The Zebras Room, The Hall, The Outlaws Hll, The Museum, The Crystal Hall, The Dome Hall and The Virgin Hall.
